Storytime Starters In-Person
October 21; 10:00 AM- 12:00 (noon) Storytime Starters
As a pillar of library service to children, Storytime is often the largest, ongoing program libraries’ offer. In this interactive workshop, Jill Burket Ragase will present groupings of two, three, or four newly published, thematically related titles grouped to make Storytime planning a breeze!
Attendees will gain the following information or skills:
• Incorporate new titles alongside classic storytime favorites
• Be families with groupings of 2-4 thematically themed books appropriate for storytime
• How to expand theme offers across age groups
Whether you’re a seasoned veteran looking to refresh your offerings or a rookie looking to up your game, you’ll find something to love in this workshop packed full of storytime outlines, plans, booklists, and resources to pump fresh air into a beloved program.
Presenter, Jill Burket Ragase is the Literacy Content and Logistics Director for Blue Manatee Literacy Project, a 2019 James Patterson Bookseller of the Year, a member of the American Bookseller Association’s Education Task Force and is the Project and Operations Leader for Cincinnati’s annual Books by the Banks book festival. She earned her MLS from the University of Kentucky and has worked as both a youth services and collection development librarian.
