Member library staff, trustees, volunteers, friends, and advocates are warmly invited to the 2025 STLS Annual Meeting and Networking Event. This year's event will be held at the Penn Yan Public Library (Yates County). The cooperative library system's social gathering takes place Friday, October 3rd from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. There will be a reception of morning appetizers and refreshments made available throughout the event.  

The Annual Meeting is an opportunity for STLS members to come together for the purpose of celebrating the accomplishments of member libraries, elect STLS trustees, and hear from professionals who can help us deliver on public library mission.

This is the third annual meeting over a course of five years where the event moves from one STLS county to another. Each year it will be held at a member library within one of our five counties. In 2023, we visited David A. Howe Public Library in Allegany County, and in 2024, we gathered at the Steele Memorial Library in Elmira, which is part of the Chemung County Library District. This year we will host in Yates County at Penn Yan Public Library. Future years will include Steuben (2026) and Schuyler (2027).

                              Program: Presentation and viewing of member libraries' posters of past year's highlights

11:15 am - 11:45 am: Celebration of STLS Award Winners and Scholarship Recipients

11:50 am: Presentation and lifting of the STARCat Cup

11:55 am: Closing remarks to go forward and do the good work! 

Program Description: Member libraries will submit poster presentations to highlight programmatic accomplishments over the past year. Attendees will be able to engage with the posters, ask questions, and learn from members' experiences. We are looking forward to seeing so many amazing, life-changing projects made viewable in once space. Everyone will be able to vote on the poster they believe was most creative and impactful. The member library receiving the most votes will receive the STARCat Cup!
