Web Accessibility Series #1: Web Accessibility Overview: Web Content Accessibility Guidelines & ADA Title II Online
The first of three workshops in the Web Accessibility Series with Sarah McFadden, Senior Librarian - Digital Services Unit, at the NYS Division of Library Development.
This workshop will include a brief overview of the relevant laws, rules, and guidelines that impact library accessibility (ADA Title II, DOJ rule, WCAG 2.1). Briefly explains how to use the WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines to ensure an accessible web presence. The second half of the presentation will focus on the broad goals of the WCAG guidelines (that content be Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust) and suggest simple strategies to begin implementing these goals for all users. Includes recommended resources for additional learning.
