Things, Things, Things: Beyond Books and Words with a Library of Things by Dania Souid In-Person
Library staff are always selecting, evaluating, and expanding the items they circulate. We now routinely have baking pans, fishing poles, sewing machines, puzzles, telescopes, medical equipment, and more for our community to access. Acquiring new items is only one step in creating a Library of Things. To best meet our community’s ever-expanding needs, we also need to focus on providing education, training, and, of course, fun!
This webinar will explore the steps to develop a collection of non-traditional objects and kits. From pitching the initial collection, to selection and cataloging, to storing and circulating, to promoting and ongoing maintenance-we will cover the Library of Things essentials. You’ll leave this webinar with concrete steps for starting a Library of Things and inspiration for making your new collection unique for your community!
